Godspell libretto offers surprisingly little direction. Unless one
knows the oral tradition dating back to John- Michael Tebelak's
original Broadway production, it's hard to generate the humor and
pathos and, above all, the fast-paced, high energy level that marks
first-class productions of Godspell.
“Your book is really wonderful. Without it in hand
I would have forgotten so many of the little tricks that can
be used to make this show fly.”
